Lite is not a cut-down sample with the good parts removed. It is the router, the provider adapters, the guardrails and the dashboard, in a repository you can read before you install anything. Point it at your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini keys and it routes the way the hosted gateway routes.

Not a one-way door.

Self-host because your data has to stay where it is. Move to the hosted gateway later because you would rather not run it. Or keep both, one per environment. It is the same OpenAI-compatible endpoint either way, so the decision is a base URL rather than a migration.
